How To Hack Broadband

What classical music has in common with the Church

I had to smile when I Ö1 Radio today in a broadcast heard of it was about how to bring classical music closer to the youth. There are those voices who claim that one should come with so-called "cross-over projects," the young people meet. That one should "spice up" the classical modernize and to make them more understandable for young people. But other voices claim the exact opposite. This serves only a flattening of the level and a superficial approach to music. One prostitute so that only the art and obscures the real beauty of music.
familiar? Progressive Conservative against.
Are not these exactly the same problems that threaten to destroy the church in Europe?
Progressive forces accuse the conservative Church leadership and accusing celibacy, sexual morality and the clergy, to distribute through their stubbornness of youth.
fear Conservative forces however, that flattened by a yielding of the demands of faith is superficial and arbitrary.
The church has so much in common with classical music.
is, like the classics can never keep up with pop culture.
your message will never be screaming, yelling and loud. Therefore, it is never the masses appeal to young people. As in the classical music is the willingness to listen and also to open his heart to the message. It belongs to such as there is a certain maturity of the audience. Classical music does not live like this, that you discuss them, but that you listen to give it wings. The Church does not expect that one can dispute about the direction, but the fact that believers are united in prayer. God is the music (soul) of the church. The view on God and the ear, can be the gap between progressive and conservative, never so deep that he could split the church.
In a concert hall in which no music is played more, even the biggest music lovers will feel no enthusiasm. A church where the music of the prayer is silent, will attract no more mouse from the hole (and certainly no young people).
much more important than the question of the political direction of the church is the question of God.
This also remind many bishops and receive a lot of ridicule and incomprehension.
The voice of truth is usually quiet and unobtrusive, yet it will never fall silent.
